Puchero

It’s always nice to meet up with friends.

On Monday I was in Huadhua to kickoff this year’s Biblioteca project there, and had the chance spend the morning with all of the parents and students. As I had not seen everyone together since our project closing in December, I was excited to catch up with the kids about what they had been up to during vacation as well as hold a meeting to discuss some details about this year’s project

But in Huadhua they had plans too. After the meeting, the mothers all laid out a tarp and each put a plate of food, a dish called puchero, on top. Each dish was then passed around to everyone and we all shared in the food. It was a beautiful display of community that I have been lucky enough to experience before and am still grateful to partake in every time.
