Alma Enseñanza Innovadora (Alma Innovative Teaching) convened primary school specialists from the Cusco Regional Education Management, specialists from the Local Education Management Units (UGELs), and principals from targeted schools in the provinces of Anta, Canchis, and Quispicanchi in the city of Urubamba. This pivotal meeting for education took place over two days, during which participants shared strategies and made commitments to lay the groundwork for the work that will transform classrooms this year through the Pedagogical Innovation course.
In the workshop, we aimed to empower principals as pedagogical leaders within their institutions so they can effectively and closely monitor their teachers. It was explained that the goal is not simply to supervise, but to *Accompany with Purpose*, providing teachers with the necessary support to successfully implement the new strategies they have learned.
During the two-day workshop, participants engaged in intensive practice focused on the most challenging skills in the classroom, particularly in the area of Communication. Specific strategies for text comprehension and production were provided, aiming to help students not only read but also interpret and create with a critical mindset. In Mathematics, they were given dynamic tools for problem-solving, moving from memorization to logical and applied reasoning.
